How a claim works

Whatever the policy, the process follows the same four steps.

  1. Tell us what happened

Call or email us with your policy details as soon as possible. For motor accidents and theft, also report to the nearest police station.

  2. Send the documents

We confirm exactly what the insurer needs, such as the claim form, photographs, receipts or a police abstract.

  3. We deal with the insurer

We lodge the claim, arrange an assessment where needed and follow up until a decision is made.

  4. Settlement

We review the settlement offer with you before it is accepted, and raise any disagreement with the insurer.

After a motor accident

  • Make sure everyone is safe and call for medical help if needed
  • Take photographs of the vehicles, the scene and any damage
  • Note the other driver's name, phone number, registration and insurer
  • Report the accident at the nearest police station and obtain a police abstract
  • Do not admit liability or agree to pay anything at the scene
  • Call us before arranging repairs

If you receive a legal claim

If an employee or a member of the public makes a claim against your business, forward all demand letters and court summons to us unanswered. The insurer's appointed lawyers will defend the claim on your behalf.
